New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, in a statement released yesterday, expressed deep gratitude for the unwavering support and confidence demonstrated by delegates from twelve constituencies within the Ashanti Region during his recent engagements. The statement, delivered during a press conference, underscores a fundamental belief that the NPP’s core constituency remains firmly committed to the reforms, structures, and leadership approach he has championed as General Secretary. Mr. Frimpong emphasized that the region’s endorsement represents a significant validation of his efforts.

His remarks were rooted in a sustained conversation with delegates, a process that, according to Mr. Frimpong, has reinforced his conviction that the party’s grassroots remain exceptionally confident in the direction he is steering. He stated, ‘Home has spoken,’ a sentiment he repeatedly emphasized, and that this support doesn’t simply represent a temporary boost; it signifies a vital cornerstone for the future of the party.

More than simply acknowledging the support, Mr. Frimpong underscored the crucial responsibility that accompanies such confidence. He stressed that the delegates’ trust must be earned, not simply given. ‘It’s Home is home, but home does not owe me its support. Its trust must be earned through service and results,’ he declared, a potent reminder of the commitment required to maintain the party’s standing. This sentiment highlights a strategic shift in priorities – a clear emphasis on delivering tangible results and establishing a foundation for victory in the 2028 general elections.

Mr. Kodua further articulated his vision for rebuilding the NPP, a vision that includes revitalizing the party’s infrastructure and bolstering its organizational strength. He asserted, ‘Together, we will strengthen our Party, rebuild with purpose and march towards victory in 2028 and beyond.’ The pledge to rebuild the party, not just as a political organization, but as a dynamic force for change, is a core tenet of his campaign strategy. Mr. Derrick Mensah Bonsu, the NPP Oti 2nd Vice Chairman-elect, has already called for unity among the regional executives, highlighting the need for collaborative action to address ongoing challenges related to stalled government projects, particularly those impacting the region’s economic development. These projects represent a significant investment for the Ashanti region and a crucial area where the NPP’s leadership needs to demonstrate tangible progress and responsiveness to the needs of the people.

The significance of this engagement stems from the sheer volume of support received. The delegates’ confidence represents a substantial and sustained demonstration of loyalty and faith in the NPP’s leadership, a factor that is undoubtedly crucial to his prospective campaign success. The message resonates with a deep-seated desire for stability and a renewed sense of purpose within the NPP’s base, demonstrating a willingness to invest in the future.

Furthermore, the statement reflects a calculated strategy to solidify his position as a key figure in the party’s leadership. Mr. Frimpong’s unwavering commitment to the NPP’s future, as articulated in this brief exchange, underscores his determination to lead the party towards a triumphant 2028 election. The region’s endorsement serves as a powerful validation of his approach and a crucial element in his broader strategy for rebuilding the NPP and securing its dominance in the political landscape.”
