Saudi Arabian Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman held separate telephone conversations with Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth and French Minister of the Armed Forces Catherine Vautrin. During the contacts, the parties discussed regional security, defense cooperation and issues of mutual interest.
In his conversation with Hegseth, Khalid bin Salman and the head of the US defense department reviewed the strategic defense partnership between Saudi Arabia and the United States. According to a statement by the Saudi Ministry of Defense, they also discussed coordinating efforts to strengthen security and stability in the region, as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.

During a separate conversation with Catherine Vautrin, the Saudi minister discussed prospects for defense cooperation with France. The officials also spoke about the challenges facing the region and efforts to overcome them in order to preserve international peace and security.
