After Djougou and Natitingou during the week of September 21 to 28, the national standardization, metrology and quality control agency (Anm) continues its monitoring mission regarding the weight of gas cylinders in the market. During this week of September 28, 2026, random checks on the weight of gas sold at gas stations in the cities of kandi and Malanville, department of the Alibori region, have resulted in irregularities related to the marked weight on the bottles at certain stations services in the towns of kandi and Malanville. Relying on regulations governing metrology activities in Benin, agents of control seized the objects of non-compliance at the weight and summoned them. The bottles cannot be sold to the population because the weights are not in compliance. The promoters will inevitably be sanctioned in accordance with the laws in effect. There will be no respite for those who engage in these practices has always hinted, the director general of the Anm, Mouhamed Nazif Moutawkilou. The population has the right to access products whose weights are compliant as often reminds the government. This is in line with this government reminder, the Anm reiterates its daily commitment to protect consumers and spontaneous inspections of this kind will continue in view of discouraging such practices.
