The NPP communications director, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, expresses a significant confidence in the prospects of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia not securing victory in the 2028 presidential election, predicated on the assumption that voters will prioritize pressing issues confronting the nation at that time. Mr. Aboagye highlights a shift in voter priorities, asserting that the election’s outcome will largely hinge on the solutions proposed by candidates to the country’s challenges. He argues that Ghanaian voters are increasingly assessing political candidates not through party affiliations, but based on tangible improvements to their lives.

In an interview with Accra-based Starr FM, Mr. Aboagye emphasizes the importance of candidates offering practical solutions to the country’s multifaceted challenges. He contends that the core question for voters in 2028 will be: ‘Which candidate presents credible solutions to the challenges we face as of 2028?’

Mr. Aboagye illustrates this point by suggesting that the electorate will compare competing presidential candidates and determine which offers solutions deemed beneficial. He further emphasizes that voters will not solely base their decisions on party performance; instead, they will scrutinize candidates’ proposals to address issues of immediate concern. The emphasis on practical solutions will, according to Mr. Aboagye, be a decisive factor in determining the outcome.

He contends that the electorate will not passively accept political rhetoric or distractions, but instead, will focus intensely on the substantive issues that demand attention. He stresses that allowing political distractions to overshadow the real challenges is detrimental to the nation’s progress. Mr. Aboagye firmly believes that Dr. Bawumia is the most likely candidate to prevail if voters concentrate on the issues rather than distractions.

Furthermore, he urges voters to avoid allowing political distractions to shift their attention away from the crucial challenges facing the country. ‘I can tell you, if the Ghanaian voter should focus on the issues and pay attention, no politician, especially those in government, can beat Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2028 elections.’

This sentiment underscores a belief that the electorate’s focus will be channeled towards identifying viable solutions to the country’s challenges, thus positioning Dr. Bawumia as the most likely victor if voters prioritize substantive issues over political maneuvering.

The article details the economic challenges, educational disparities, and infrastructural deficits that are currently impacting Ghanaian society, providing a context for the argument that candidates must offer concrete solutions to create a better future for the nation. The analysis underscores a potential shift in voter priorities, suggesting a greater emphasis on practical and tangible solutions than traditional political allegiance.

This shift in voter priorities, according to Mr. Aboagye, underscores the crucial importance of candidates demonstrating their ability to deliver tangible results and improve the lives of ordinary citizens. The article concludes by highlighting the potential consequences of allowing political distractions to undermine the electorate’s ability to make informed decisions, emphasizing the necessity of focusing on the real issues facing the nation.
