Manchester City are reportedly exploring the possibility of retaining Jack Grealish, with a potential transfer to Everton emerging as a key topic following recent discussions regarding Toffees winger Iliman Ndiaye. According to BBC Sport, Grealish’s preference would be to return to Everton should he leave Manchester City in the remaining days of the transfer window. This is a significant development as City have expressed interest in signing Ndiaye, who has rejected multiple contract offers on Merseyside.

Toffees winger Ndiaye, who was previously with Aston Villa, is currently attracting attention from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, who reportedly held a strong interest in the 26-year-old. However, the 26-year-old has turned down the offer, according to sources close to the club. City’s chief executive Angus Kinnear has stated that Grealish has ‘remained in contact’ with the player, emphasizing that City’s focus remains on Grealish’s performance and development.

Grealish spent last season with the Toffees, showcasing impressive performances with two goals and six assists in 20 appearances. However, a recent injury sustained in January significantly impacted his availability. Everton’s manager, Enzo Maresca, has indicated a willingness to allow the Englishman to leave the club before the deadline.

The situation is complicated by the fact that Grealish’s contract with Manchester City runs until 2029, and City are unlikely to demand a substantial fee in the region of £70 million to consider a sale. Coventry City are also reportedly in talks to sign City defender Stephen Mfuni on a season-long loan deal, adding to the speculation surrounding the transfer landscape.

The potential transfer of Ndiaye to Everton presents a significant challenge for City, who are currently managing Grealish’s future, as the player’s contract with Aston Villa is set to expire in the coming weeks. The potential for a new partnership between the two clubs remains a topic of considerable discussion.
