Ezri Konsa, the 28-year-old English defender, has completed a remarkable £51 million transfer to Arsenal, marking a significant shift in his career and bolstering the Gunners’ defensive ranks. The news comes after BBC Sport revealed that Arsenal had been actively pursuing Konsa for several months, with Villa initially expressing interest but ultimately failing to agree on a valuation.

Jarrell Quansah, who represented England alongside Konsa at the World Cup, was also in the running before Arsenal agreed a fee with Villa.
Since joining Villa in July 2019 from Brentford, Konsa has been a cornerstone of Emery’s team, contributing significantly to Villa’s success. He’s been instrumental in Villa’s recent history, especially in the Europa League, where they won the trophy in May 2022, marking the club’s first major trophy since 1982.
