The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has formally re-elected Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, as the Regional Chairman of the Bono Region. The announcement, made during a regional elections held at Baakuniaba, near Sunyani, marks a significant milestone in the NPP’s leadership structure and signals a strengthened regional presence within the party. The election, which took place on [Date of Election – Placeholder], saw a decisive victory for Abronye DC, securing a comfortable majority of the votes, surpassing his closest competitor, Joseph Mensah, by a considerable margin of 201 to 31. This result underscores the continued strength of the Bono Region within the NPP’s political landscape.

Mr. Baffoe, who has served as a prominent figure in the region for several years, secured the chairmanship through a spirited and well-executed campaign. He garnered 201 votes, representing a significant portion of the total of 281 delegates who participated in the election. Joseph Mensah ultimately secured 31 votes, placing him in second place. The election also saw a notable distribution of votes across various positions, with Kate Amponsah Agyare, elected First Vice-Chairperson, receiving 252 votes, while Peter Boampong Asomah, who obtained 29 votes, finished third. The remaining positions were filled by individuals with notable qualifications.

Notably, the election process was remarkably smooth, with police officers maintaining strict law and order throughout the voting center. The presence of Electoral Commission (EC) officials and security personnel was crucial to ensuring the orderly and secure conduct of the election. The 12 constituencies represented in the region were expected to cast their votes, and the election was overseen by the Electoral Commission, demonstrating a commitment to transparency and integrity.

The results reflect a robust and competitive election environment within the Bono Region. While the competition was intense, the NPP demonstrated its ability to maintain a strong presence and leadership within the region. The election’s outcome solidifies Abronye DC’s position as a key figure in the NPP’s future direction, and analysts anticipate his continued leadership in bolstering the party’s electoral success within the Bono region and beyond.

Mr. Yaw Afful, who received 44 votes, was elected as the former Jaman South Member of Parliament (MP), while Afari Gyan and Kwabena Oppong failed to secure any votes. Kate Amponsah Agyare, elected First Vice-Chairperson, received 252 votes, surpassing Peter Boampong Asomah, who secured 29 votes. The election also saw significant participation from individuals like David Adagyah, who garnered 68 votes, while Samuel Kwaku Asare, with 93 votes, remained in the running. The Women’s Organiser position was contested by Samira Sulley, who emerged victorious with 142 votes, defeating the incumbent, Doris Asomah, who polled 139 votes. The Youth Organiser position saw Dauda Ibrahim Bamba, with 102 votes, taking the lead, while Shadrach Abrefah Mensah secured 92 votes. Joeffrey Kwarteng Brobbey and Alhaji Baba Suwari each garnered 58 and 29 votes respectively. The Treasurer position went to Veronica Tuffour, securing 131 votes, while Henry Osei obtained 124 votes, while Kassim Siaka secured 25 votes. Abdul Razak Oppong was elected Nasara Organiser with 177 votes, while Wahab Bashiru secured 101 votes. The Treasurer position saw Fahd Osman, with 170 votes, defeating Abubakari Yakubu, who secured 111 votes.
