Leicester City are reportedly seeking to sell the club for more than £200 million, with Thai owners King Power considering a departure after 16 years of ownership. The Foxes have engaged in a comprehensive sales booklet produced by a prominent US investment bank, aiming to offload the club’s one-time Premier League title-winning status. This document, viewed by BBC Sport, values the club’s physical assets – including the King Power Stadium and Seagrave training facility, valued at £121 million – and key assets like OH Leuven, all as up for sale, totaling over £200 million. Citigroup lists the club’s assets, including the Foxes’ teams and the 32,000-seat stadium, as well as the Belgian sister club, as being available for sale, with a brochure titled ‘Project Lineup’. The brochure details the club’s past successes, particularly its 5,000-1 Premier League title win of 2016 and the FA Cup triumph five years later, while highlighting their struggles in League One, relegations, and overall financial losses, which amount to over £180 million, and the club’s debts, including a £103.6 million bank loan, are omitted from the document. The club’s turnover, which Citigroup forecasts to exceed £97 million for the 2026 financial year, is also part of the discussion, although the years of financial losses and the club’s debts – outlined in its 2025 accounts, which include £103.6 million in bank loans – are not included. The club’s struggles in recent years, marked by two relegations from the Premier League in three years, have led to growing calls from fans for a sale, with the most vocal criticism coming outside King Power Stadium following the Championship relegation last season. Despite the club’s issues, Leicester City is being positioned as one of only five clubs to have won all three major English trophies since 2000, a significant achievement considering their history of financial losses and debt, which, as outlined in its 2025 accounts, includes £103.6 million in bank loans. King Power, run by Srivaddhanaprabha’s family, purchased the club for £35 million from Milan Mandaric in 2010. Khun Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha, currently chairman, died in a helicopter crash outside the stadium in 2019. Efforts to put the third-tier club up for sale were first reported in the Financial Times in July, but the document now circulating to prospective buyers is public confirmation that new investors are being sought. The sale process comes just eight months on from Khun Top stating he is shouldering the blame for the club’s drastic recent demise. There have been growing calls from disgruntled fans for the club to be sold, with the most vocal showing coming outside King Power Stadium after relegation from the Championship was confirmed last season. Leicester’s struggles in recent years have been exacerbated by difficulties for the King Power duty-free business in Thailand, which has also suffered financial difficulties. Despite the club’s issues, Leicester City is being positioned for sale as one of only five clubs to have won all three major English trophies since 2000. The document also outlines the potential of the club’s academy, stating the Foxes have a ‘strong talent pipeline backed by leading scouting infrastructure, active transfer management and highly developed academy system consistently producing top players.’ Jeremy Monga, Leicester’s academy graduate, was recently sold to Manchester City for £10 million, and Leicester will start their latest campaign in the third tier under Russell Martin at Notts County on Saturday. Leicester declined to comment on the sale brochure when contacted by BBC Sport.”}” ,
