A self-proclaimed Ghanaian pastor has been hauled before an Accra court following the arrest of Nana Yaw Bonsu Kwarteng on a string of fraud allegations involving multiple women. The Ghana Police Service reported the arrest on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in footage captured by Gossips24 TV, showing Kwarteng walking into what appeared to be a courtyard near the Accra Circuit Court complex.
According to a statement from the Ghana Police Service, Kwarteng operated as a romance scammer by presenting himself as a pastor on Instagram. He reportedly told women that God had revealed to him they were destined to be his wives, using that guise to build relationships with his targets. This deceptive tactic, according to authorities, constitutes a serious offense.
Beyond the emotional manipulation, police allege Kwarteng also engaged in a fraudulent car tyre business. The prosecution claims he collected thousands of dollars from women under the pretence of legitimate transactions, including the sale of tires and related services. The investigation revealed that the alleged offenses date back to 2021, with the police encouraging any additional victims to report to their nearest station.

Furthermore, the investigation revealed that Kwarteng’s wife, Sally Akosua Amoasah, was co-accused in the matter. Prosecutors alleged that she played a key role in threatening the victims, potentially engaging in coercive behavior to obtain financial gain. She previously appeared before the same court but was granted bail, while her husband remained in custody ahead of his return to court.
