MTN Ghana has delivered robust results for the first half of 2026, showcasing significant growth across its diverse business segments. The company reported a total revenue of GHS15.0 billion, representing a 32.3% year-on-year increase, driven by strong performance in its data, digital, enterprise, home, and fintech businesses. This impressive figure represents a substantial increase in revenue, surpassing expectations, and solidifying MTN Ghana’s position as a key economic driver in Ghana. EBITDA grew by 47.1% to GHS9.3 billion, with EBITDA margin improving to 61.8%, a key indicator of operational efficiency and profitability.

Profit after tax increased by 46.1% to GHS5.1 billion, and earnings per share rose to GHS0.388, reflecting the company’s continued focus on disciplined execution and operational efficiency. Significant contributions to the company’s financial results came from the data services business, which saw revenue increase by 37.2% year-on-year, fueled by growing smartphone adoption, increased demand for digital services, and an expanding customer base. The active data subscribers grew by 17.0%, while average data usage increased by 38.0%, demonstrating a sustained demand for data-driven services.

The digital services segment also experienced robust momentum, with revenue increasing by 98.0% year-on-year, driven by the increasing adoption of gaming, video content, and digital financial services. The fintech business continued its strong trajectory, with Mobile Money revenue increasing by 23.3% year-on-year, driven by greater adoption of digital financial services across the MoMo ecosystem. Transaction volumes increased by 27.3%, while transaction value grew by 44.4% year-on-year.

Furthermore, MTN Ghana successfully completed the structural separation of its Mobile Money business, a strategic move anticipated to enhance operational focus and agility. This separation is projected to strengthen the company’s platform for future growth and long-term value creation. As part of its commitment to shareholder value, Scancom PLC revised its dividend policy, allowing the Board to declare interim dividends quarterly, subject to available resources, retained earnings, and compliance with debt covenants.

The company’s impact extends beyond revenue and taxes; MTN Ghana has invested heavily in education, health, economic empowerment, and sustainability. They scaled the SME Accelerate Programme, expanded the MTN Bright Scholarship Scheme, and commissioned a new Accident and Emergency Centre at the Ho Teaching Hospital. The 2026 Y’ello Care programme delivered 3,888 hospital beds and accessories to seven regional hospitals, reflecting a significant commitment to healthcare access and improved patient care. The company also invested in digital infrastructure, including the implementation of the Smart Card system, and has launched a new initiative to support small businesses through training and mentorship programs. MTN Ghana’s commitment to these initiatives underscores its dedication to creating shared value and contributing to Ghana’s economic progress. The company remains confident in its medium-term outlook and Ambition 2030 strategy, which focuses on leading customer experience, expanding connectivity, accelerating fintech growth, strengthening digital infrastructure, leveraging artificial intelligence, and creating shared value for stakeholders.
