Chud The Builder, known for his controversial and often racist online presence, has been released from county jail following the posting of a $1 million bond after a successful defense through ten separate bail services. The release comes after a lengthy legal battle and a significant amount of controversy surrounding his past behavior, culminating in a murder attempt charge against him and Dalton Eatherly.

The details of the situation are deeply rooted in Chud The Builder’s online persona, which has long been characterized by racially charged rhetoric and animosity towards Black individuals. As reported, the legal nightmare he’s facing extends far beyond his streaming career, impacting his ability to move freely and potentially jeopardizing his future.

Dalton Eatherly, the real name behind the online persona, spearheaded the bond request with a 10% stake in each bail service, resulting in a total of $100,000 apiece. The judge, after a court hearing, set the bond at one million dollars in May, following a shooting outside the Montgomery County Courthouse where Eatherly and another man were wounded. According to TMZ, the shooting was not a spontaneous event but rather a deliberate provocation, fueled by Eatherly’s repeated livestreaming of harassing Black people throughout Nashville.

For months, Eatherly’s social media posts had been consistently demonstrating his intent to provoke Black people into physical confrontations. His followers, comprised of a mix of white nationalists and far-right extremists, overwhelmingly rewarded his behavior with hundreds of thousands of dollars in crowdfunding support. District Attorney Robert Nash presented evidence indicating that Eatherly explicitly stated his intention to incite violent reactions among Black people.

In a particularly egregious post from May 4th, Eatherly wrote, “Keep encouraging your fellow blacks to assault me. When you see a chimp with their brains blown out on the time line just know yall did this to your own people.” This statement, taken out of context, has ignited a firestorm of criticism, highlighting the severity of his past actions.

The courthouse confrontation escalated when Fox, a Black man, stood up and walked toward Eatherly after their verbal exchange. Prosecutors allege that Eatherly attempted to grab his gun, and Fox punched him, resulting in seven shots fired. Five of those shots hit Eatherly, causing significant injury. While Eatherly claims self-defense, the evidence suggests a hunting-style attack, not a genuine defense.

Before the shooting, Eatherly was already facing charges from a Nashville steakhouse incident where he livestreamed himself refusing to pay a nearly four-hundred-dollar tab at Bob’s Steak and Chop House. He was charged with theft of services, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest in that case. As reported by CNN, both cases have been sent to a grand jury review, and if convicted on the attempted murder charge alone, Eatherly faces up to fifty-six years in prison.

His next court date is scheduled for later this month, and prosecutors are actively seeking to have his bond revoked to allow him to return to his life and avoid further legal complications. The situation remains a complex and concerning case, highlighting the persistent impact of Eatherly’s past behavior and the ongoing legal efforts to address the harm caused by his online actions.
