Seattle-based Viome Life Science has completed the acquisition of Circulate Health, a pioneering startup specializing in plasma exchange and diagnostics, marking a significant step forward in the advancement of longevity research and treatment,” stated Dr. Brad Younggren, Circulate’s former CEO, in a press release. The deal, valued between $15 million and $50 million, represents a substantial investment for Viome, solidifying its position as a leader in the health and longevity sector. Viome, founded a decade ago, has secured approximately $250 million in investment from various investors, positioning it as a substantial player in the biotechnology industry. The acquisition of Circulate Health will dramatically expand Viome’s capabilities, bolstering its diagnostic offerings and integrating its expertise into a comprehensive blood-cleaning service, dubbed therapeutic plasma exchange. This service utilizes a combination of advanced diagnostics and plasma exchange to explore potential biomarkers and treatment pathways related to chronic disease and aging,” explained Viome’s CEO, Naveen Jain, during a company-wide announcement. The combined entity, now formally known as Viome Pro, will encompass diagnostics, oral and throat cancer detection, and the therapeutic plasma exchange protocol. The newly formed clinical group will include a dedicated team focused on analyzing microbiome health, which is growing as a critical area of investigation, particularly concerning its potential impact on health and longevity. The combined organization’s 115 full-time employees, including 10 consultants, will retain their positions, a testament to the agreement’s collaborative nature. Circulate operated in stealth mode for two years before launching in January 2024, raising $14 million in initial funding. Following its acquisition, Circulate’s operations centered primarily in the U.S., with established clinics in the U.K. and Bahamas, and established relationships with additional sites across the country. The expanded network, leveraging Circulate’s existing infrastructure, promises to significantly increase Viome’s geographic reach, with the goal of reaching 400 sites globally. The medical community has raised questions regarding the rigorous evidence supporting the claims made by Circulate regarding plasma exchange’s benefits, particularly concerning its potential impact on mental performance and longevity, as well as the efficacy of microbiome testing. A 2026 study in the Journal of Clinical Apheresis revealed that repeated treatments involving plasma exchange helped reduce microplastic levels in the blood. Younggren emphasized that Viome is committed to continued research, stating that new tools and technologies will be integrated into the clinical trial process. The company’s 2025 publication of a study on aging cell biological age reduction, though outside of medical experts’ scrutiny, showed potential reductions in biological age following treatment, and a separate 2026 study in the Journal of Clinical Apheresis showed that protocols helped reduce microplastics in the blood. Viome anticipates a phased rollout of the combined diagnostic and plasma exchange services, incorporating the existing expertise of Circulate’s team and leveraging Viome’s existing technology. The acquisition is expected to generate significant value for investors, solidifying Viome’s position as a leader in the biopharmaceutical and longevity space.” The deal represents a strategic move for both companies, aiming to create a vertically integrated healthcare solution that addresses the growing demand for advanced diagnostics and personalized treatment approaches.””The combined entity is poised to contribute substantially to the advancement of longevity research and treatment, reflecting a commitment to innovation and a focus on providing comprehensive healthcare options.””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””
