The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has initiated a major clean-up at Alabar, focusing on this year’s World Cleanup Day. Beginning Saturday, October 3, the exercise will operate across a wider area than previously announced. Trading activities within the designated regions, stretching from Apagyafie Crossroads to Doctor Mensah and Aboabo Station, will be suspended from 6 AM to 12 PM to allow residents and other stakeholders to contribute. Commercial vehicles will also be prohibited during this period.
The KMA is encouraging all residents, traders, businesses, and community groups to actively participate in the clean-up effort. The Assembly states this initiative is aimed at fostering environmental responsibility and collective efforts to maintain a clean community. Commercial vehicle operators are requested to adhere to the temporary restrictions and cooperate with officials to ensure the clean-up operation runs smoothly.
