The 6th Inter Tourism Expo, organized by the Governing Committee of the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme, has commenced a crucial partnership with Mr. Augustine Tanoh, President Advisor on 24-Hour Economy, the government’s transformational agenda, to facilitate the upcoming 2026 Inter Tourism Expo scheduled to unfold in Cape Coast Central Region next month. This collaboration underscores Ghana’s commitment to establishing a thriving 24-Hour economy, particularly within the tourism sector, as outlined by the Presidential Advisor. The meeting, led by Chairman Mr. Emmanuel Treku and Chief Executive Officer Ms. Beauty Kabukie Apedoe, provided an invaluable opportunity for both sides to discuss the Expo’s objectives, program structure, and investment-focused activities. The discussion centered on Ghana’s burgeoning 24-Hour economic vision, specifically targeting job creation across diverse sectors – including tourism, investment attraction, agribusiness, industrialization, digital transformation, and private-sector participation. Furthermore, the meeting addressed key areas of coordination between the Expo organizers and government institutions to ensure the event delivers tangible, practical outcomes beyond purely conference-focused discussions. The Expo’s overarching theme is ‘Positioning Ghana as a 24-Hour Investment Economy,’ with a strategic focus on sectors like agribusiness, digital sovereignty and AfCFTA Industrial Acceleration within Ghana’s tourism landscape. The event, anticipated to draw over 300 stakeholders, investors, government officials, business leaders, development partners, and participants, will take place from October 21-23, 2026, in Cape Coast. The event is a significant undertaking, representing an investment of $100 million from the government. The Presidential Advisor welcomed the team, expressing the 24-Hour Economy’s commitment to providing support to the Expo. He specifically requested information to advise the secretariat’s role in ensuring the Expo’s outcomes align with the government’s transformational policy program, which is currently underway with the 24-Hour Economy Authority. Mr. Treku detailed the purpose of organizing the export, emphasizing Ghana’s tourism potential and the desire to attract significant investments and returns to stimulate economic growth and development for the nation and its people. He highlighted the considerable returns that countries receive from tourism, emphasizing that Ghana can also attract and retain such financial returns for the country. He underscored the significance of engaging key institutions like the Ghana Investment Promotion Authority, Ghana International Trade Commission, Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ghana Tourism Authority, and the Regional House of Chiefs, to ensure the Expo’s success, emphasizing the collaborative nature of the partnership. Follow-up meetings were planned to further organize the event. The Inter Tourism Expo and Conference, an annual event designed to showcase Ghana’s potential and attract tourists, is focused on connecting tourism with broader productive economic sectors and demonstrating how tourism can fuel investment, employment, value chain development, and regional economic activity. Presentations, investment marketplace opportunities, and deal flow sessions will be offered to companies exploring business linkages. The event will also include practical sessions on technology, physical infrastructure, and emerging sectors. The event will also feature a series of business sessions to facilitate direct engagement between global investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry professionals. Preliminary data suggests that the Expo has attracted over 300 participants, including over 300 stakeholders, investors, government officials, business leaders, and development partners. A key component of the event is a presentation of investment opportunities and a dedicated Deal Flow, designed to facilitate direct engagement between investors and companies. The event is projected to generate a substantial amount of economic activity within Ghana, creating jobs and boosting the nation’s overall development. The event has been a crucial step in establishing Ghana as a dynamic and attractive investment destination.
