The case, initially treated as a missing person inquiry, has quickly morphed into a complex legal battle involving criminal charges, potential extradition requests, and a deepening investigation into the circumstances surrounding her vanishing.
As the public began scrutinizing Alicia’s life, another name emerged – Ailea Brown, her daughter, who vanished from Reisterstown, Maryland, on May 25, 2019, at the age of ten. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children still lists her as missing today, with an NCMEC poster stating she ‘may be in the company of her mother.’ Ailea’s disappearance initially triggered a renewed focus on the case, prompting authorities to launch a criminal investigation. On July 6, 2026, authorities apprehended Alicia Brown on Interstate 85 in Georgia, arresting her on outstanding warrants, and subsequently arrested Baltimore County police on charges related to her disappearance, including aggravated battery and third-degree cruelty-to-children, stemming from the domestic dispute involving Morgan. The arrest on these charges remains pending.
The renewed attention quickly collided with an active criminal investigation. On July 6th, authorities stopped Alicia on Interstate 85 in Georgia, arresting her on outstanding warrants. Baltimore County police confirmed that their Crimes Against Children Unit had filed charges connected to Ailea’s disappearance and was seeking Alicia’s extradition to Maryland. She was also wanted in Fulton County on a separate interference-with-child-custody warrant. She is seeking records that could show who was involved in obtaining the warrant and how authorities learned where she was traveling. None of Brown’s allegations of coordination between Morgan and Fulton County officials have been established in court.
