Wizkid, the globally recognized Nigerian music superstar, has been officially announced as the headline act for the forthcoming Detty December Fest 2026, marking a significant milestone in the festival’s evolution. This marks Wizkid’s return to Lagos after a relatively subdued year, following his previous collaborations with Asake and the release of his 2024 album, ‘Morayo’. The festival, produced by Livespot360, a prominent entertainment company specializing in high-profile performances, is slated to run from December 18th to 30th, offering a comprehensive experience encompassing music, culture, food, fashion, and entertainment, all centered in Lagos, Nigeria. The festival’s production has been renewed by Livespot360, a company known for its successful record-breaking performances in Nigeria and Ghana, further solidifying the event’s reputation for attracting top-tier talent.
Tickets for the 2026 edition are already available through the official Detty December Fest channels, with several additional headliners expected to be revealed in the coming weeks. The festival’s format will incorporate a second stage, designed to showcase emerging artists and foster a dynamic landscape for African music. Livespot co-founder and creative officer Darey Art Alade explained that the new stage represents a strategic move to capitalize on the growing global appreciation for African music, providing a platform to amplify the voices of young, rising talent and bolster the region’s music industry. He stated, ‘This stage is a vital step in expanding the festival’s reach and creating more opportunities for artists from across Africa to engage with a wider audience.’ The festival’s initial lineup includes Wizkid, alongside Asake, and several other confirmed performers, with the anticipated announcements of more headliners expected to occur in the coming weeks. The event is expected to draw a substantial crowd, with estimates suggesting over 100,000 attendees throughout the duration of the festival.
