The new board of the National Council of Press and Audiovisual Employers of Benin (CNPA-Bénin) is engaging with the President of the High Authority for Audiovisual and Communication (HAAC). Led by its president, Clément Adechian, the delegation was received in an audience this Wednesday, October 7, 2026, by Edouard Loko, President of the Haac.
A marathon day for the CNPA-Bénin board. This audience, the third of the day, provided an opportunity for the new President of CNPA-Bénin to present the members of his board to the President of the HAAC and to share the main guidelines and the vision that will guide his term at the head of the media employers’ organization.
During the discussions, Mr. Clément A. ADECHIAN also requested the HAAC’s accompaniment and support in implementing the actions planned by his board, particularly in favor of the development and strengthening of the press and audiovisual sector in Benin.
Furthermore, he praised the leadership of President Édouard LOKO at the head of the HAAC as well as the actions undertaken to improve the working conditions of media professionals. He noted the efforts that led to the renovation of “La Maison des Médias” in Cotonou, an important infrastructure for actors in the media sector.
The President of CNPA-Bénin expressed his willingness to continue advocacy for the equipment of “La Maison des Médias.” He also raised the issue of state aid to the private press and committed to working, in mutual agreement with his team, to defend the interests of press companies, strengthen their economic viability, and develop the media sector in Benin.
The HAAC remains committed to responsible and constructive dialogue with umbrella organizations for a professional, dynamic, and more structured press.
