Freedom Park, a major recreational and cultural space in Lagos Island, will be temporarily closed to the public from Monday, October 5th to Sunday, October 11th, 2026, for renovation, clean-up, fumigation, and other maintenance works. The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture announced the closure, stating it’s part of scheduled maintenance and upgrade work aimed at enhancing visitor experience and preserving the historic facility. The temporary closure is to allow for comprehensive clean-up, fumigation, and related maintenance. The management of Freedom Park stated the temporary closure is to allow for ‘comprehensive clean-up, fumigation and related maintenance works.’ The ministry assured visitors that normal activities would resume after the completion of the works.
