Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has commended the national leadership of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) for its commitment to farmers and agricultural development in the state.
The governor made this commendation during the inauguration of the newly elected AFAN Yobe State Chapter executives.
The governor, who was represented at the occasion by the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Ali Mustapha Golori, said government is committed to security and welfare of farmers in state.
During the occasion, the AFAN national leadership presented an Award of Excellence in Agricultural Activities and Food Security to Governor Mai Mala Buni in recognition of his leadership and contributions to agricultural development in Yobe State.
The newly elected State Chairman pledged to work closely with AFAN leadership at the national, state and local government levels to promote farmers’ welfare and advance agricultural activities across Yobe State and Nigeria.
In his remarks, the AFAN National President, Hon. Muhammad Magaji Gettado, appreciated the Yobe State Government for its support and cooperation in ensuring the successful conduct of the election.
He reaffirmed AFAN’s commitment to supporting Nigerian farmers, particularly those in Yobe State, and urged other states yet to conduct their chapter elections to do so without delay.
