Police officers from the 11th arrondissement of Cotonon were arrested on September 30 and October 1, 2026, following the seizure of counterfeit drugs and substances classified as stimulants. The first operation, led by Vodjè Gbadji, focused on an individual known to the police. A security inspection revealed pills and opioids on the suspect, along with scissors and shredders. The seized items were sealed and placed in custody. A second operation was conducted on October 1, around 9 PM, near the China Gezhouba Group Company (Cggc) kiosk. The suspect claimed to be a scrap metal collector, but a search revealed a quantity of counterfeit drugs of a psychotropic type. The investigation continues under the direction of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
