At least three individuals sustained injuries following a stampede among attendees at the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Delegates Conference held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. The injured were taken to Kumasi South Hospital for medical attention, while others with minor injuries received treatment at on-site medical points.
One person reportedly suffered a fracture when crowds attempted to push through. Police at the venue intensified crowd control measures to prevent further congestion. This incident unfolded as delegates and supporters gathered for the NPP’s national executive elections. In a separate development at the conference, a billboard collapsed, resulting in damage to four vehicles.
