Asante Kotoko will be hoping to return to winning ways when they host Karela United FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, October 1, 2026, with the Porcupine Warriors looking to maintain their strong home record against the Tamale-based side.
Kotoko have struggled for consistency after picking up their first league win of the season against Heart of Lions in Matchweek Two. They have failed to win their last two games, including a disappointing 2-0 home defeat to Aduana FC last Sunday, despite Aduana playing the entire second half with 10 men.
The result leaves Kotoko with one win, two draws and one defeat from their opening four matches. They will now be eager to bounce back against Karela United and rebuild momentum.
Kotoko have enjoyed a strong home record against Karela, remaining unbeaten in their last six league meetings in Kumasi, with three wins and three successive 1-1 draws. However, their overall recent home form has been inconsistent, with four wins, one draw and four defeats in their last nine league matches at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Karela United travel to Kumasi with renewed confidence after securing a hard-fought 1-0 home victory over Hearts of Oak last Saturday. The win was their second of the campaign and extended their impressive home record against the Phobians.
The Tamale-based side have also scored in all four of their league matches this season, highlighting their attacking consistency. However, their away form remains a concern, with Karela winless in their last four league games on the road, recording one draw and three consecutive defeats.
They have conceded at least twice in each of those three away losses and will be seeking to end that run by claiming their first league victory on the road since a 1-0 triumph over Dreams FC in February 2026.
