Ghana’s celebrated beach resort, Labadi Beach Hotel, is commemorating a remarkable 35 years of unwavering excellence, a testament to its commitment to the community and the nation’s hospitality sector. The hotel’s anniversary celebrations extend beyond mere festivities, embodying a profound dedication to people, the environment, and exemplary service – a philosophy deeply rooted in its history and values. The hotel’s year-long initiative, launched on July 17th, began with a focused and impactful clean-up operation along the hotel’s perimeter and the sea shore, commencing with a comprehensive sweep of the premises and the coastline. Led by Managing Director, David Eduaful, alongside Accountant George Brobbey, Food and Beverage Controller Vincent Kotey, and a dedicated team of staff and management members, this initiative was meticulously planned to showcase the hotel’s core principles. Mr. Eduaful emphasized that without a clean environment, the hotel’s hospitality simply couldn’t succeed, stating that a pristine space was fundamental to the overall experience. On July 30th and 31st, the hotel launched significant donation exercises, partnering with key organizations. The team visited the La Mantes Palace, where they generously donated 20 cartons of Heineken, 40 packs of Bel Aqua mineral water, 10 packs of canned Coca-Cola, five packs each of canned Sprite and Fanta, two bottles of schnapps, two bottles of Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky, and GH¢10,000.00 in cash, to support the La Mantes Palace and the La community, a community the hotel has maintained a long and meaningful connection to for over three decades. This donation was spearheaded by Head of Marketing, Ekua Zara Ghartey-Tsagli, who expressed gratitude to everyone who has supported the brand throughout its 35-year journey, acknowledging the collective contributions to the hotel’s success. On July 31st, the hotel delivered a substantial offering – a van filled with 200 packed rice meals, drinks, and bottled water – to the Al Aziz Central Mosque. Mrs. Ghartey-Tsagli explained that the decision to donate to the mosque was influenced by the hotel’s longstanding relationship with the Ghana Armed Forces, which has provided crucial support to the hotel since its inception. On August 22nd, the hotel’s grand opening celebration marked a significant milestone with a vibrant float parade, announcing the anniversary and expressing gratitude to Ghanaians for three decades of loyalty. The hotel subsequently organized an inter-hotel football tournament, aimed at strengthening ties with sister hotels and fostering a spirit of collaboration within the hospitality industry. HR Specialist, Bright Botwe noted that hospitality work can be demanding, particularly during the busy Christmas season, and that activities like this help staff relieve stress and boost morale, contributing to a positive work environment. The hotel’s celebration culminates with a Thanksgiving Service on October 17th, bringing together past and present staff, board members, shareholders, and stakeholders to thank God for 35 years of resilience and leadership in Ghana’s hospitality sector.
