Montana of 300, a prominent rapper born in Chicago, is intensifying his legal challenge following a Peoria jury conviction for aggravated battery and domestic battery, along with resisting a peace officer, which occurred in February 2025 following a confrontation with his former girlfriend. The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office has announced an appeal effort, and Montana of 300 is preparing to pursue all available appellate remedies. The case, initially reported by AllHipHop, centers around a jury verdict of guilty on three charges, triggering a significant legal battle.

Representative Tiffany Gaines, Montana’s legal representative, issued a statement affirming his innocence and asserting his continued belief in his innocence, stating that he will respectfully disagree with the jury’s verdict and intend to explore all available appellate avenues. Mr. Bradford maintains his innocence, and the statement includes a commitment to no further comment regarding the evidence at this time, a key aspect of the ongoing legal process. The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office confirmed guilty verdicts on all three charges, stemming from a February 2025 incident involving Montana’s former girlfriend.

The incident unfolded at a Peoria salon where Montana arrived, where police officers were present. According to the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office, Montana utilized the salon’s rear entrance and then followed the woman outside, grabbing her after she ran screaming from the building. Officers ordered Montana to stop, but prosecutors asserted that he ignored the order before police used a Taser and arrested him. Witness accounts indicate Montana’s reaction during the trial focused on the woman’s denial of any physical contact, yet the jury accepted the prosecution’s version of the events. He later framed the conviction around race, warning younger men about controlling their reactions during confrontations that could become criminal cases. The Chicago-born rapper built his reputation through viral remixes before releasing his 2016 album Fire in the Church, a project that significantly boosted his independent career.

The Chicago-born rapper’s catalog expanded through independent projects, including Don’t Doubt the God, Pray for the Devil, and Rap God, demonstrating his adaptability in the music industry. Montana’s legal battle has been a prominent topic in the media, with AllHipHop providing extensive coverage and analysis of the case. The Chicago-born rapper’s legal team is expected to return to court for sentencing October 16, according to the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office, further intensifying the legal drama.

This case represents a significant legal challenge for Montana of 300, and the outcome will undoubtedly have implications for his career and reputation. The details of the February 2025 incident and the jury’s verdict remain central to the legal narrative, as the case continues to unfold.
