Dr. Ayeh explained that his role as a senior government official at the Office of the President places him as the designated recipient of the petition on behalf of the President. Specifically, he stated, “If you think that the President has sent me to receive a petition on his behalf and, in your opinion, I’m a nobody, and because of that you will not give me your petition, well, that’s the position you can have and I respect that,” he said. He further asserted that he is standing in for the President, emphasizing that the President’s best wishes are extended to the group for their continued engagement and participation in any future initiatives.
