Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay has returned to training with Napoli after heart surgery. The club said that additional medical examinations conducted on Wednesday confirmed that the 29-year-old footballer is fit to play.
Last month, McTominay underwent an ablation in Manchester, a minimally invasive procedure to correct heart rhythm disorders. The procedure was described as completely successful. After a period of individual training, the footballer resumed working with the team, BBC Sport reports.

McTominay was substituted in the 56th minute of Napoli's August Serie A match, in which the team lost 1-2 to Como. After the game, the footballer was found to have a mild benign arrhythmia, which led to corrective treatment.
During his absence, McTominay missed four Scotland national team matches, including Tuesday's Nations League defeat to Slovenia. Scotland's next matches are scheduled for November against Switzerland and North Macedonia. He has scored 15 goals in 73 appearances for Scotland.
