The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in the Krachi Nchumuru District of the Oti Region has donated relief supplies to residents whose homes and properties were destroyed by recent heavy rainfall.

The affected communities include Korkose, Grubi, Kwame Akura and other surrounding areas.

The storm caused significant damage to buildings and household belongings, leaving several families in urgent need of assistance.

The relief items presented by NADMO included rice, rubber buckets, bowls, mattresses, and other essential supplies.

The donation is intended to provide immediate support and ease the financial burden on the affected victims.

Speaking to Adom News, the Krachi Nchumuru District NADMO Officer, Shadrach Njebi, said the intervention formed part of efforts to support residents affected by the disaster.

He explained that the current management inherited an office with no relief supplies from the previous administration, making it difficult to respond adequately to emergencies.

The district officer acknowledged that the items donated would not address all the challenges facing the victims but said they would go a long way towards easing their hardship.

He appealed to the government, benevolent organisations and individuals to provide additional relief items to support the affected families.

The victims expressed their appreciation to NADMO for the assistance and called for further support to help them rebuild their lives and replace the belongings lost in the storm.
