Since October 1, 2026, Sucreries du Gabon has been experiencing severe social turbulence. The Sugar Workers’ Union (Sytrasuc), affiliated with the Gabon Trade Union Confederation (CSTG), has filed its strike notice on September 18. Employees are now observing an indefinite work stoppage to denounce a continuous deterioration in their working conditions and to demand the strict application of collective agreements.
