Ghana’s Black Stars are facing immediate consequences after losing 4-2 to The Gambia following a second consecutive defeat in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, according to Communications Minister Samuel Nartey George. George declared the team’s disbandment and dissolution of the Football Association (GFA). The result follows a disappointing defeat to Ivory Coast in their opening Group C fixture last Thursday. The Black Stars’ second-half goals came from Ernest Nuamah and Felix Afena-Gyan, effectively putting them behind in the competition. George stated that the situation requires sweeping changes to Ghana’s football administration, including the disbandment of the team, the sacking of the FA, and a FIFA ban for two years. He further indicated a need for the team to rebuild.
