The Netherlands defeated Serbia 2-1 away in the Nations League on Sunday, with 23-year-old Meerdink scoring twice. The game was set up by Ruben van Bommel, who created as many goals in as many games for the Dutch after a brilliant cross for Cody Gakpo’s late equalizer. Meerdink, who made his second appearance after his debut, scored two goals in as many games. The Netherlands secured their first win in Group A2, hosting Germany against Greece in Augsburg.
