Global wellness and lifestyle company QNET has issued a directive to its accredited offices across Ghana to relocate to commercial areas, a move intended to intensify scrutiny of the company’s operations and enhance the detection of fraudulent activities. This decision follows years of alleged criminal activity involving the QNET name, prompting a collaborative effort between QNET’s Compliance Officer, Naana Quartey, and the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and the Ghana Police Service. QNET Global Compliance Officer, Naana Quartey, stated that the company is actively collaborating with these authorities to eradicate illegal elements linked to the organization’s activities. For years, fraudsters have allegedly infiltrated the company, perpetuating various crimes, and the relocation represents a significant step in bolstering security measures and ensuring the integrity of QNET’s operations,” the article begins. “The company’s stated rationale is to bring the activities of its accredited offices into greater public visibility, facilitating easier monitoring and identification of legitimate versus fraudulent activities. The relocation, according to QNET, is designed to enhance the company’s ability to combat criminal elements, a crucial element in maintaining operational integrity and safeguarding the reputation of its clients and partners.”

The relocation to commercial areas is a direct response to the growing concerns raised by authorities regarding potential illegal activities associated with the QNET brand. The move is part of a broader strategy implemented by QNET to strengthen its compliance and risk management protocols. Specifically, the company has recently engaged with EOCO and the Ghana Police Service to address the issue of fraudulent schemes targeting the QNET name. This collaboration, which began last month with a workshop for representatives from 13 Central and West African countries, involved a rescue operation in which 44 foreign nationals, believed to be connected to a travel scam syndicate, were apprehended. The group comprised 34 nationals of Burkina Faso, eight from Côte d’Ivoire, one from Mali, and one from Nigeria. Following rigorous screening, 33 Burkinabe nationals were repatriated to Burkina Faso on August 13, 2026, and handed over to INTERPOL Burkina Faso.

The relocation to commercial areas is being viewed as a proactive measure to bolster the fight against transnational fraud and illicit activities. Furthermore, the Church and the Law, as emphasized by Apostle Dr Bright Sosu, Chairman of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), underscores the importance of religious leaders’ awareness of Ghanaian laws in addition to their spiritual duties. He advised religious leaders to be vigilant and to verify all information before sharing it with their members, particularly concerning potential scams related to QNET’s brand. The move is a strategic response to the concerns raised by authorities and is a significant demonstration of QNET’s commitment to combating criminal activity within its operational framework. The company’s stated objective is to enhance transparency and accountability, ensuring that all dealings with clients and partners are conducted ethically and legally.”

This relocation is part of a larger initiative to strengthen QNET’s regulatory compliance and mitigate potential risks associated with its global operations. The company’s initial statement indicates a deliberate effort to increase visibility and deter fraudulent activities, reflecting a proactive approach to safeguarding its reputation and client trust. The collaboration with EOCO and the Ghana Police Service signifies a strengthened commitment to combating organized crime and upholding the rule of law.”

The 44 nationals rescued from Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire represent a significant development, highlighting QNET’s commitment to international cooperation in combating cross-border fraud. The exercise underscores the importance of international collaboration in tackling illicit financial flows and safeguarding national security. The Church and the Law advisory emphasizes the need for religious leaders to be aware of Ghana’s legal landscape, acknowledging the importance of religious responsibility within the context of national law.”
