Israeli forces have recorded seven fatalities in Gaza as a result of a recent Israeli strike, escalating tensions and raising concerns about the ongoing humanitarian situation. The strike, which occurred on Tuesday, has significantly disrupted the supply of essential aid to Gaza, according to local sources. Three Palestinians were killed and others injured in a strike targeting a home in Beit Lahiya, near Kamal Adwan Hospital, a source at al-Shifa Hospital stated. This incident follows a series of previous strikes and drone attacks that have targeted civilians and infrastructure throughout the territory.

Earlier in the day, a drone strike hit a gathering of civilians, resulting in the death of a man in Khan Younis’s al-Mawasi area, and the injuries of three others. Three other Palestinians died from wounds sustained in earlier Israeli raids on Khan Younis, reported by Al Jazeera Arabic correspondent Nour Khaled.

The strike also destroyed a warehouse storing nutrition supplies intended for children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers, according to Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) announced on Tuesday. MAP stated that the explosion caused significant structural damage to the building, including collapses of the roof and walls, burying supplies beneath rubble. Humanitarian workers, humanitarian facilities, and the essential supplies they depend on are now at risk. The warehouse belongs to Ard El Insan (AEI), a local humanitarian organization working with MAP to support approximately 60 medical points serving up to 100 women and children daily. AEI’s project coordinator, Sahar Salem, confirmed that two of her colleagues have been killed and another wounded since Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza began.

The overnight explosion further complicates the already dire situation, with a warning from Director-General Dr. Munir al-Bursh that ‘complete collapse of the basic necessities of life’ is imminent amid critical oxygen supply shortages. He warned that ‘any additional breakdown could cut off oxygen to patients,’ adding that ‘we do not want to reach the point where a doctor is forced to choose between two patients, deciding who receives oxygen and who is left without it.’ He further stated that only 12 oxygen stations remain operational out of around 34, and cautioned that ‘any additional breakdown could cut off oxygen to patients.’

The Israeli military strike, which is currently ongoing, continues to escalate tensions and violates the ceasefire agreement, which is present in statements but absent from people’s lives on the ground. President Donald Trump called for Israel to halt its attacks, stating that ‘Israel should not be striking in Gaza’ and that ‘Hamas agreed to lay down their weapons’ under the terms of a US-backed peace plan. Al-Bursh also emphasized that the situation on the ground remains extremely challenging, with children and women still urgently needing continued support.

Despite ongoing Israeli attacks and violations of the ceasefire, US President Donald Trump has repeatedly urged Israel to halt its military operations. On August 17, Trump stated that Israel ‘should not be striking in Gaza,’ and that ‘Hamas agreed to lay down their weapons’ under the terms of a US-backed peace plan. The situation continues to deteriorate, raising concerns about the potential for further casualties and the humanitarian impact on Gaza.
