The People’s Alliance for Government and Accountability (PAGA) has issued a formal demand for immediate clarification regarding allegations leveled against Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin by the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi. This demand follows Afenyo-Markin’s recent filing of separate legal actions, initiated on August 24, 2026, as Parliament resumed following weeks of intense public exchange between the two parties concerning the Domestic Gold Purchase Programme (DGPP). PAGA Co-Convenor Kofi Dapaah stated that the situation necessitates a thorough review of the allegations and a robust investigation into any potential wrongdoing, emphasizing the importance of ensuring accountability within the GoldBod structure.
