The campaign team of New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman aspirant Boakye Agyarko has vehemently rejected a recent survey conducted by Global InfoAnalytics, placing former General Secretary John Boadu at the forefront of the race for the party’s leadership position. The survey, released on August 20, 2026, presents a stark contrast to Boakye’s internal assessment, which places him ahead of his rivals by a significant margin.
The survey, a key component of the competitive landscape surrounding the NPP’s upcoming national executive elections, reveals a distribution of support that is generating considerable debate amongst analysts. As of the release date, John Boadu commands a commanding 27% of the vote, trailed closely by Boakye Agyarko with 15%, with former NPP National Chairman Paul Afoko also included in the poll.
However, Boakye Agyarko’s spokesperson, Vincent Frimpong Manu, has expressed considerable skepticism regarding the survey’s validity, asserting that it did not adequately consider the delegates who will ultimately determine the election outcome. In response to the survey’s findings, Boakye Agyarko’s campaign team maintains that their internal assessment places him ahead of his rivals. Specifically, Boakye Agyarko currently holds 50% favorable rating and 17% unfavorable rating, resulting in a net approval rating of 34%. Paul Afoko, with a 50% favorable rating and 18% unfavorable rating, demonstrates a net approval rating of 32%.
The survey’s regional results further demonstrate a clear dominance of John Boadu within several regions, including Bono East, Greater Accra, North East, Northern, Upper East, and Central.
