Organized by the Ghana government, the event has attracted a significant cohort of senior officials, including the Ga Mantse and H.R.M. King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, chairperson of the dialogue, and former Chief of Staff, Dr Julius Debrah, who is serving as the special guest of honour. The event’s aim is to examine Ghana’s current resource management framework, proactively identify areas demonstrating effective collaboration, and address persistent challenges hindering the sustainable development of the nation’s mining industry. Asempa FM reports that the dialogue has seen a substantial turnout of stakeholders, including ministers, traditional leaders, mining regulatory bodies, and prominent industry figures.
The Ga Mantse and President of the Ga Traditional Council, H.R.M. King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, is presiding over the event, alongside the esteemed Dr. Julius Debrah, who is presenting a crucial perspective on the importance of collaborative governance. Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, is also present as a guest of honour.
Several key figures are participating as speakers, including the Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF), Mrs. Justina Nelson; and Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi. Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, is also contributing as a speaker.
The dialogue is being hosted by Philip Osei Bonsu, with the goal of facilitating practical discussions among government, traditional leadership, and industry stakeholders to establish pathways towards improved relations between mining companies and host communities.
