Ye stopped by LA Sports Cards, and his shoes stole the show. He wore the Yeezy 800 High Tactical Boot, a pair that hasn't hit retail yet.
The boot is all black, with a tall leather upper and a heavily paneled build. Stitched overlays wrap across the toe and run up the ankle. A chunky sole with cutouts sits underneath. Paired with his head-to-toe black leather fit, it all looks very intentional.
We've seen this boot before. Ye previewed it on Instagram back in August, alongside the new Yeezy 800 sneaker. Now we're getting another look at it in person.
There's still no release date or price for the boot. The Yeezy 800 sneaker is expected in December, so the boots could follow a similar timeline. Ye has also been dropping these previews with almost no warning.
The brand's new JD Sports deal could help here. That partnership launched August 13th with five models, but the 800 wasn't one of them. Fans have been waiting on new Yeezy boots since the Adidas split.

Tactical boots are nothing new for Ye. Military-inspired designs run all through his Yeezy history, from Season 3 to the Yeezy 500 High Tactical Boot. The Sand pair of that boot dropped in 2024 for $300. It even had laces that double as a fire starter.
This new version feels like a different animal. The black leather paneling gives it a bit of a motorcycle boot energy. It's more aggressive and a lot less soft than the old Adidas pairs. It also shows Ye leaning into rugged, utility-driven designs instead of chasing trends.
Resale is worth watching too. The 500 High Tactical Boot Sand has been trading below its $300 retail price on StockX. Supply and pricing will decide how hot these new boots get.
Ye's footwear brand is clearly in a rebuild right now. A boot like this could be exactly what gives it some edge.
