CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) — The City of Charlottesville Sister Cities Commission is now accepting applications for its 2025 Sister Cities Grants Program. Charlottesville organizations and individuals are invited to apply for up to $2,500 in funding for projects that benefit Charlottesville as well as its Sister Cities, which include Besançon, France; Poggio a Caiano, Italy; and Winneba, Ghana.One other city, Huehuetenango, Guatemala, is a Friendship City as its Sister City status is pending.
Applicants are encouraged to consider a broad variety of possibilities. Past grants have supported initiatives in history, the visual arts, music, municipal services, digital communications and connectivity, education, literary fields, sports, and photography.
