The Benin Karate and Associated Disciplines Federation is fielding nine athletes at the Cadet, Junior and U21 World Championships scheduled from October 14 to 18, 2026, in Bielsko-Biała, Poland.
The Beninese delegation is heading to Central Europe for the 14th edition of the Karate World Championships, a major international event held under the auspices of the World Karate Federation. For this global event, the technical choices of the federation officials fell exclusively on the Kumite event, where nine national karateka will defend the country’s colors in three distinct age categories. In the Cadet category, Bararath Abe Codjo is the sole Beninese representative and will fight in the under-61 kg division. The Junior bracket brings together four entrants, namely Carmelia Salou in the under-53 kg, Uriel Kole in the under-61 kg, Blaise Wongla in the under-68 kg grid and Alrick Aditi in the under-76 kg division. The squad is rounded out with the U21 category, where four other competitors will challenge the international elite. Joresse Kpadonou will represent the country in the under-60 kg, Giovanna Aditi will be fielded in the under-61 kg, Charmide Dayana Kole will compete in the under-68 kg and Ihsane Adjanonhoun will compete in the under-84 kg category. The nine national representatives are entering the final phase of their preparation before the first bouts on the Polish mats.
