Manchester City have been guilty of multiple serious financial breaches between 2009 and 2017, according to a statement from the Premier League. The league found City ‘arranged ‘sham’ contracts with commercial partners, manipulating revenue and reducing costs by over £900 million. An independent commission found that City broke financial rules for nearly a decade. City deny wrongdoing, but the commission delivered a decision to sanction following these breaches.
