The National Service Authority (NSA) has released the first batch of postings for 70,072 eligible national service personnel for the 2026/2027 service year.
In a press release dated September 30, 2026, the Authority said the postings followed the completion of the required validation and registration processes for prospective personnel.
The NSA has directed eligible applicants to visit its official website, https://gnsa.gov.gh/home , and access the portal to check their postings and complete regional validation.
Registration for the 2026/2027 service year is scheduled to begin on Thursday, October 1, and close on Thursday, October 15, 2026.
All posted personnel are expected to report to their respective departments, institutions and agencies from Monday, October 5, to begin their national service.
The Authority also indicated that registration remains open for private and international applicants, urging them to complete the process within the stipulated period to enable their applications to be considered.
According to the deployment statistics, a total of 149,907 prospective personnel were submitted through the registration process. Of that number, 95,689 were successfully verified, while 95,197 completed registration.
Following the applicable validation and deployment procedures, 70,072 applicants were included in the first batch of postings.
The NSA further announced that monthly evaluation forms for personnel serving in subvented institutions will be available on its portal from the 15th to the 20th of each month to facilitate the completion of evaluations required for allowance payments.
For October 2026, however, the forms will be available from October 15 to October 25.
The Authority also reminded the public that national service is a statutory requirement under Section 29(1) of the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), for Ghanaian citizens who have completed a course of study at a tertiary education institution.
It cited Section 40 of the Act, which places restrictions on employing qualified individuals who have not completed national service, unless they are exempted under the law.
The legislation also provides for an administrative penalty of 5,000 penalty units for employers who contravene the relevant provisions. It further empowers the Authority to direct individuals who obtain employment without undertaking the required service to complete it.
The NSA encouraged prospective personnel to comply with the registration procedures and deadlines to ensure a smooth deployment and commencement of their service.
